Pearl Jam is forced to cancel their U.S. tour for Gigaton due to Coronavirus: 'It’s been brutal and it’s gonna get worse before it gets better'
Pearl Jam was expected to embark on the tour for their first album in seven years on March 18.
But due to growing fears around the Coronavirus and recommendations to avoid large crowd gatherings, the band announced in a tweet thread on Monday, the North American leg would be postponed.
In a 10-tweet thread Pearl Jam explained the decision to postpone and expressed their disappointment with the decision but found there was no other option. The tweeted statement began 'As residents of the city of Seattle, we’ve been hit hard and have witnessed firsthand how quickly these disastrous situations can escalate. Our kids’ schools have closed along with universities and businesses. Source
