Doom is in the air starting today until Monday because this is the 36th anniversary of Pope John Paul II visit to Turkey. JPII paid a visit to Turkey in 1979.

So what! you say. Yeah so what. But here's the thing. wicked men in the Vatican decided to make JPII a saint. And with Saints you celebrate certain important days in the life of the Saint and with the Saint you get miracles.

Now if JPII is no Saint but is worthy of death, destruction and hell, then I would expect confirmation of this fact from Heaven itself. Kinda like sending a letter addressed to JPII c/o Heaven only to get a return to sender, not deliverable as addressed, like this:

Heaven sent the letter back because JPII is residing in the pit of hell.

And if JPII is in the Pit of Hell then I would expect an Anti-Miracle...you know like death and destruction etc..

Thirty three years ago today Pope John Paul II was shot by a Turk Mehmet Ali Ağca.

Today on this very day over 200 Muslim miners die in a mining explosion in Soma, Manisa, Turkey, and over 300 Muslim miners are still trapped.

Bizarre? Very!

Talk about signs. This one is clear.

At least 157 miners have been killed and hundreds more left trapped underground after an explosion at a coal mine in western Turkey, according to the local mayor. The blast at the coal mine in Soma, around 120km (75 miles) northeast of the Aegean coastal city of Izmir, happened during a change in shifts earlier today. This evening the Mayor of Manisa, Cengiz Ergun, said 157 had been killed and 76 injured in the explosion, which is believed to have been triggered by an electrical fault. Turkish Energy minister Taner Yildiz said 787 people were inside the coal mine, which is located 155 miles from Istanbul, at the time of the accident. So far, 363 of them have been rescued. The workers are thought to be trapped about 2km below the surface and 4km from the exit of the mine. Mr Yildiz said the situation was 'worrisome' and rescue efforts would last until the morning.He confirmed the fire was triggered by an electrical fault and that workers had been killed, but declined to say how many. ‘It is a serious accident,’ he told reporters earlier today before leaving for Soma to oversee the rescue operation. ‘Our priority is to reach our miner brothers ... any figure we give could well be wrong.’ Authorities say the disaster followed an explosion and fire caused by a power distribution unit. Mr Yildiz said most of the deaths were the result of carbon monoxide poisoning. 'Time is working against us,' he said, before confirming some 400 rescuers were involved in the operation. Turkey-Russia jet downing: Moscow announces sanctions

Russia has announced a package of economic sanctions against Turkey over the shooting down of a Russian jet on the Syrian border on Tuesday. A decree signed by President Vladimir Putin (in Russian) covers imports from Turkey, the work of Turkish companies in Russia and any Turkish nationals working for Russian companies. The decree also calls for an end to charter flights between the countries. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has refused to apologise to Russia.
