Father Luis Alfonso León Pereira, a Spanish priest who has ministered for nearly five decades in Colombia, was brutally murdered by a homeless man on July 15. The murder took place in the sacristy of a parish in Montería. As the priest began to prepare to celebrate Mass, he discovered the man committing a theft. An angry mob gathered to kill the murderer; police intervention saved his life. CatholicCulture.org
