Pope Francis made an unscheduled stop at a shantytown just a few hundred yards from the parish of San Michele Arcangelo a Pietralata, which he visited on Sunday evening. Accompanied by the pastor, Msgr. Aristine Sana, he met with refugees and other indigent people, the majority of whom were from Latin America. He recited the Lord’s Prayer with them in Spanish. It was a powerful moment, with great joy, in the peripheries so loved by Pope Francis.

It says the majority of them were from Latin America? Why would Latin Americans flee to Rome?
